Dr. John earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2000. After graduation Dr. John worked at a veterinary clinic in Bolton, Ontario where he gained valuable knowledge of the business before deciding to open his own animal hospital in Caledon, his childhood hometown of 22 years. Dr. John has a special interest in orthopedic surgery with over ten years of experience. He is certified in most disciplines of orthopedic surgery including TPLO, TTA, hip replacement, bone deformities and fracture repairs. Dr. John also teaches orthopedic surgery and is completing a fellowship through the North American Academy of Veterinary Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. John is a course instructor for the TTA. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and spending time with his family. Dr. John resides locally, with his wife Dana, their three children as well as a Lab, two French Bulldogs and a few cats.
Dr. Meredith graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2007 and that same year started working at CMVH. Her veterinary interests include ophthamology, soft tissue surgery and radiology. Dr. Meredith's future goals include furthering education in chronic disease and pain management in geriatric patients as well as learning more about emergency medicine. Her free time is spent running with other members of the CMVH team, playing various sports including soccer and volleyball, and of course, playing tug with her Rottie, Mackenzie!
As of September 2014, Dr. Meredith is off on maternity leave spending time with her beautiful baby boy, Ryan.
Dr. Rebecca graduated from McGill University in 1990 with a BSc in Ecology. Work in the field led her to continue her studies at The Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, where she graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Dr. Rebecca has focused on small animal medicine for many years in central BC, and now at CMVH. Outside of work, Rebecca keeps busy with 3 kids, a cat, a dog, and a few frogs! When time permits, she tries to get out running or participate in other outdoor activities with her family.
Dr. Sherry has been working as a full time veterinarian at CMVH since May 2010. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2005 with a BMSc in Physiology and then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2010. While she enjoys all aspects of working with her furry patients, she finds the areas of dermatology and dentistry particularly interesting. In her free time, Dr.Sherry enjoys running (often with other staff members from CMVH!), reading, travelling and spending time with her husband, Brad. She has two wonderful rescue pets, a sheltie and a cat.
As of April 2014, Dr. Sherry is off on maternity leave spending time with her beautiful baby boy, Nolan.
Dr. Rozy Merali is a 1999 Ontario Veterinary College graduate and has worked in general practice for many years and in the last 4 years she has specifically worked in Emergency medicine. Some of you may have had the pleasure of having your pets treated by her on the weekends at North Town Veterinary Hospital. She really enjoys building new relationships and caring for new patients. Dr. Merali's family has two year old Border Collie mixes named Willow and Blossom who are always busy finding rocks and getting covered in mud.
Dr. Steven De Melis graduated from the University of Guelph in 2009 with a Bachelor of Sciences with a minor in nutrition and nutraceutical sciences. He then went on the earn his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the University College of Dublin in Ireland where he graduated with honours in 2014. He has spent his whole life working in vet clinics and is eager to apply his knowledge clinically. Dr. Steve's interests include opthamology, nutrition, behaviour and diagnostic imaging. One of his future goals is to become proficient in the use of ultrasound imaging. Outside the clinic Dr. Steve enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with his family and friends. He has a 6 year old Boston Terrier named Charger and a 1 year old rescue cat from Ireland named Paddy (yes, named after St. Patricks Day!)
